About Junior Girls Program:
The MSGA Junior Girls Program includes girls as young as 7 years old, with various opportunities to benefit their golf careers throughout college. In partnership with the Caves Valley Golf Club Foundation, the MSGA offers the following programs:
- Junior Girls Season Opener: A day dedicated to teaching girls ages 7-14 what the game of golf is all about. With clinics from top LPGA/PGA instructors, lessons in etiquette, contests, pizza and ice cream, the girls are sure to love the game and make many new friendships throughout the day.
- Poindexter Cup & Mid-Atlantic Challenge: Two annual interstate team competitions where top Maryland girls compete against the top players in Virginia and the Carolinas.
- Junior Girls Championship: One of the most prestigious Maryland championships for girls ages 9-18 to compete against other golfers in the state.
- Scholarship: The MSGA awards one $2,000 educational scholarship annually to a deserving student who will be attending a college, university, junior college, or vocational school.
- Grants: Four $500 grants are awarded annually to girls ages 12-18 to assist with expenses incurred while playing in regional and/or national level golf competitions.
